Here are some of my favorite sites for finding Free 3D Models and Free Content. If you want to 3D Print these 3D Models you need to find and download models in file format STL or OBJ:
www.thingiverse.com – Best site for 3D Models if you intend to 3D Print, large community of contributors
www.instructables.com/3D – Good site for 3D Models if you intend to 3D Print, lots to learn
www.turbosquid.com – Good site for 3D Models in general, best for artistic content
https://clara.io/library – Another good site for 3D Models in general, best for artistic content
Free 3D CAD Software
Here is some free 3D Modeling Software if you want to create your own 3D Models and Content. Some of these have steep learning curves, learn at your own time risk. For instructional videos look on YouTube and search the corresponding software:
www.freecad.org – A very respectable 3D Modeling program, it’s your best bet for free 3D Modeling
www.sketchup.com – Powerful yet simple program, best for Architectural but works for any 3D discipline
www.openscad.org – Powerful yet technical program, best for programmers & left brained thinkers
www.tinkercad.com – A lot of people really enjoy this simple but effective 3D Modeling program
3D Printing Sites (Paid Service)
Here is a 3D Printing site, it’s a paid site but it’s the best for 3D Printing your models, they do really quality work:
www.shapeways.com – Professional 3D Printing, they print in many materials, not cheap but worth it
Here is an alternate 3D Printing site, it’s paid and it’s OK in a pinch (and on a tight budget) this site can probably get the job done:
